Dr. Sheila Keber

I decided that I wanted to become a chiropractor when I was 9 years old, on the day of my very first chiropractic adjustment!
I was called to chiropractic that day and it has not left my life since. My wonder and awe with chiropractic has only grown over the years, but it has been especially ignited in the past 5 years since becoming a mother myself. Watching your own child from conception, through birth and in their early development years truly conveys the innate capabilities within the human body. During this same 5 years, I lost my own mother… and this has all created a catalyst for my renewed focus within my practice and with respect to my own personal health journey.
Most recently, I have done extensive postgraduate work to expand my proficiency in caring for the littlest of patients. These certifications have included intraoral work for babies with nursing concerns and infantile TMJ dysfunction, assessment of retained reflexes, and cranial work for plagiocephaly or flat head syndrome. I am currently enrolled in a Pediatric Posture Specialist Certification with the American Posture Institute. I can’t wait to share my knowledge.
I’m proud to say that my business, Peak Health and Wellness, has now been empowering Brooklin families for over 10 years, having founded it in 2010. My vision was a small, profitable chiropractic clinic and it took on a life of it’s own very quickly. Our entire team (of 14 now!) has a passion to serve this community, and I’m proud to say it shows in the care delivered between our walls, no matter who you see. I hope our Brooklin families will continue to choose Peak when looking for their trusted healthcare advisors.
When I’m not in the office, you will find me trying to keep up with my husband Paul and my little dude, Birch. We are often in nature, and on skis whenever possible. My husband has been beyond supportive through many twists and turns, the latest covid, and my son is turning into the best little handy man around the business too.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My husband, Paul and I, met on the ski patrol at Brimacombe in our teenage years and have been living in Brooklin for 10 years, married now for 7. We have a 5 year old boy named Birch who has just started JK and is already a little ripper on his skis!

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I am a family chiropractor with a soft spot for the littlest of patients and I’m in awe of the power that chiropractic care can bring to the table for them at such a young age. But my true passion comes from inspiring parents to embrace that fact that the health of our family unit hangs with them. It is imperative that we pass a vision for health on to our children that is far greater than our own. This includes leading by example and putting health as a top priority in EVERY decision for ALL members. I believe “just adding chiropractic” to the family routine is a great way to minimize the effects of stress and maximize the potential of the human body, the brain and the nervous system. I’m humbled that so many families have joined my practice with 3 and 4 generations under care, showing they understand there is immense value for all ages.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?

The answer to both is 10 years!

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
Narendra Sethi, retired/previous business owner of Whitby Optical, he continues to donate his time to many volunteer organizations including The Rotary Club, even into his 80’s. He is an incredible man.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
Probably to a beach for a relaxing week where there are no household chores. Some down time with the family is just what we need!

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
I do like to watch cooking shows on tv, even though my own cooking needs some work, I am inspired to try more in real life.

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Health can be fleeting, and nothing else matters when you don’t have it. As such, it must be in the top three priorities for any individual and for all families.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
This year, it would be Prime Minister Trudeau… I think I would like some questions answered about how our country moves forward after Covid and it would be nice to hear him address my concerns in person. Corrado’s would be a great choice for an improtant conversation.

My mom’s perfume, she passed in 2018. I kept a bottle and it’s the best reminder of her.
