Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I live with my mom, dad, my sister who’s in grade 10, and my 2 dogs. We love to spend time outdoors either hiking, kayaking, or walking along the beach together.
What are your plans after graduation?
I will be going to Queen’s University for a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) degree and I am hoping to do a learning track in Anatomical and Physiological Basis of Health and Disease.
What are two of your favorite restaurants in our community?
I love Mathilda’s and Il Fornello.
If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
I would probably travel to Italy since my family has wanted to go for a long time. I would love to try the gelato, pizza, and fresh pasta as well as see the beautiful little towns.
What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
My favourite TV shows are Breaking Bad and Forensic Files. Currently I am watching The Handmaid’s Tale and am really enjoying it.
If you were asked to give advice to your senior class and the younger students at your school, what would you say?
I would tell the senior class to try and keep a positive outlook as it really helped me over the past year.
I would tell the younger students to try and get involved in clubs and teams as soon as they can and to work their way to a leadership role. I had no idea that the university scholarships and supplementary essays/applications would need so many community involvement activities and experiences. It is definitely good to get this experience early as it can also help boost your resume too!
If you were able to be cast as yourself into a television show or series, what show would you want to be in?
I would cast myself in Masterchef or Cupcake Wars so I could taste all of the fancy food.
If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?
I would have lunch with Youtuber, author, and mortician, Caitlin Doughty. I loved her books and her videos are always so informative and entertaining. I would love to ask her some questions about her career. I would want to meet at Mathilda’s, my favourite vegan restaurant, since Caitlin is a vegetarian and I am vegan.
What is your favorite thing about our community?
When my friends and I run any type of charity project or ask for donations, everyone is very supportive of our cause and we always have so many community members willing to help out.
Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
In 10 years I hope to be finished medical school and working towards becoming either a forensic pathologist or a neurosurgeon.
What is something on your bucket list?
I would love to go to Hawaii and go snorkeling!
What is your go to band / singer when you can’t decide what to listen to?
I like Sufjan Stevens, Hozier, and Angelo de Augustine.
Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
July is my favourite month since school is done and there is still so much summer left. My favourite holiday is Halloween and the best single day on the calendar would also have to be Halloween on Oct. 31st.
What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
Pizza and ice cream.
What is something you want to do as soon as this pandemic is finished?
I want to meet up with my friends and go out for dinner. I would also like to go to Canada’s Wonderland with my sister.
Who inspires you to be better?
My parents. They are always very encouraging and supportive.
